Based near Melrose, Caroline works from her studio creating individually hand painted and dyed silk scarves, and accessories. Working on a selection of silks: velvet, chiffon, habotai and ponge, each piece is an original artwork. Some pieces involve nuno felting to incorporate silk and soft merino fibres, or devore and decorative foils to create further embellishment. Since retiring from teaching textile skills at venues all around the country, Caroline has also been exploring working with watercolours and acrylics to capture Borders’ landscapes and still life, in addition to her textile work.
